Journalism and Mass Communication department Student visit GBS TV

A section of NIBS students drawn from the Journalism and Mass Communication department paid a courtesy call to GBS Television Network located along the Thika Superhighway recently. The students took part in the favorite interactive show Talk-King which airs on GBS every Tuesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm. They also got the opportunity to meet some of the technical and non technical personnel drawn from different departments. They were also taken through a facility tour to familiarize themselves with the goings-on behind the scene.

The Conversation is a talk show by Nairobi Institute Of Business Studies Journalism and Mass Communication Department which identifies social issues affecting the society such as truancy , peer pressure, promiscuity,  Drug Abuse among others.

NIBS Procure Digital switcher for it JMC Department

At the heart of the video production studio's control room sits a Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio which is one of the modern production switcher.

Nairobi Institute of Business study is one of the colleges that has embraced the change of technology by using this Digital Production switcher. Journalism and Mass communication department at NIBS are privileged of using this switcher.  

The ATEM is connected to an iMac, which runs the ATEM Software Control as opposed to the analogue switcher which is hardware based. 

When you are shooting program for Youtube upload and sharing or for DVD/CD creation you could use a single camera where you could mix shots in post production but with ATEM you can do a multi-camera production where the shot are switched and recorded at the same time hence saving time in post production

ABOUT JMC TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Thank you for your interest in JMC Technical support. We offer different support to our students. Please review the options listed below and choose the option that best fits your needs. If necessary, fill out the appointment form and submit online.

1. One on One training
We are able to host an individual or a group of students in our facilities including Tv studio, Radio Studio, Editing suite and Lecture halls. This option gives you the ability to schedule a time within the allocated time range to receive one on one training for individuals or groups as large as ten.

If you choose this option you are required to fill Thursday appointment form  and Wednesday and Friday Appointment form 

2. Ask a Trainer

This option gives gives you the ability ask relevant question to your trainer and get an answer using the same platform or via mail.   

3. Instructional Videos - Coming Soon 
We will be preparing Instructional Video for you to download or stream. This will be after we know how the rest of the option will peak up.
